Mueang Nakhon Pathom District

Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Pathom ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง นครปฐม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Nakhon Pathom. The Nakhon Pathom province is located in the middle of Central Thailand.

Geography

Nakhon Pathom is located about 50 km west of the capital Bangkok.

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Kamphaeng Saen, the Don Tum, Nakhon Chai Si and Sam Phran in the province of Nakhon Pathom, and Amphoe Bang Phae, Photharam and Ban Pong in Ratchaburi Province.

The Khlong Chedi Bucha is the main water resource of the circle.

History

The area around Nakhon Pathom was a great city of the Mon kingdom as early as the Dvaravati period.

Today Mueang Nakhon Pathom district was established in 1895 as Phra Pathom Chedi. At that time he was the Mueang Nakhon Chai Si Nakhon Chai Si in Monthon subordinate. • Phrong Maduea ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพรง มะเดื่อ ) consists of parts of tambon Nong Phrong Maduea and Din Daeng,

There are also 24 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
