Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat District

Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat ( Thai: เมือง นครศรีธรรมราช ) is the administrative district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the provincial capital of the province ( Changwat ) Nakhon Si Thammarat, Southern Thailand.

The capital of the district of Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Nakhon Si Thammarat is also called.

The Nakhon Si Thammarat province is located about 780 km south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Neighbouring districts ( from the southeast clockwise): Amphoe Pak the Phanang, Chaloem Phra Kiat, Phra Phrom, Lan Saka, Phrom Khiri and Tha Sala. All Amphoe located in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

To the east lies the Gulf of Thailand.

Management

The District of Nakhon Si Thammarat ( Amphoe Mueang ) is divided into 16 subdistricts ( tambon), which continues in 114 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Nakhon Si Thammarat ( Thai: เทศบาล นคร นครศรีธรรมราช ) itself has city status ( thesaban Nakhon ), it consists of the Tambon Nai Mueang, Tha Wang, Khlang, as well as parts of Na Khian and Pho Sadek.

There are also three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Tha Phae ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่าแพ ) consists of the Tambon Pak Phun
  • Bang Chak ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บางจาก ) consists of the Tambon Bang Chak,
  • Pak Nakhon ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปาก นคร ) consists of parts of the tambon Tha Rai and Pak Nakhon.

There are also 13 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.

The missing geocodes 9-11 and 17 belong to communities that were separated in 1994 to form the Amphoe Phra Phrom.
