Mueang Pan District

Amphoe Mueang Pan ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง ปาน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the eastern part of the province of Lampang. The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from northeast clockwise): Amphoe Wang Nuea the, Chae Hom and Mueang Lampang Province Lampang, Mae On and Doi Saket Chiang Mai province, and Wiang Pa Pao, Chiang Rai Province.

Part of the National Park Chae Son is located in the district, the other part of the park is located in Amphoe Chae Hom. The park was opened on 28 July 1988 as 58th National Park of Thailand. Numerous waterfalls and hot springs subjected to far more than 100,000 visitors.

History

Mueang Pan was on 15 July 1981 as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established, consisting of the four Tambon Mueang Pan, Chae Son, Ban Thung Kwao Kho and which were split off from the circle Chae Hom. On 9 May 1992 Mueang Pan received the full Amphoe status.

Management

The circle is divided into five subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 53 villages ( Muban ).

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
