Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe the Changhan, Chiang Khwan, Thawat Buri, At Samat, Chaturaphak Phiman and Si Somdet Province Roi Et, Maha Sarakham, and Amphoe Mueang Maha Sarakham Province.

History

Mueang Roi Et is an ancient city. The area around the town was raised in 1908 to a Amphoe. In 1913, he was renamed by Pachin Roi Et in Mueang Roi Et.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Roi Et is divided into 15 communes ( tambon), which continues in 195 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There is a city ( Mueang thesaban ) in the district:

  • Roi Et ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง ร้อยเอ็ด ), consisting of Tambon Nai Mueang throughout.

In addition, there are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Non Tan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โนน ตาล ), consisting of the whole tambon Non Tan,
  • Po Phan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปอ ภาร ), consisting of the whole tambon Po Phan.

There are also 12 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
