Mueang Samut Prakan District
Amphoe Mueang Samut Prakan ( Thai: อำเภอ เมือง สมุทรปราการ ) is a district ( Amphoe ) of Samut Prakan Province in Southern Thailand. The capital of the district is also called Samut Prakan.
Geography
Samut Prakan is located on the southeastern outskirts of the capital Bangkok.
Management
The district Mueang Samut Prakan is divided into 13 communes ( tambon).
Samut Prakan is itself a big city ( thesaban Nakhon ), it consists of the whole Tambon Pak Nam.
There are also five small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Dan Sam Rong consists of parts of the tambon Samrong Nuea,
- Samrong Nuea consists of the Samrong Nuea other parts of the tambon Bang Mueang and parts of May and Thepharak,
- Bang Mueang consists of parts of the tambon Bang Mueang, Mueang Bang May and Thepharak,
- Bang Pu consists of the whole tambon Bang Pu, Bang Pu Mai, Thai Ban and Ban Mai Thai,
- Phraek Sa consists of parts of tambon Phraek Sa and Sa Phraek May
In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
