Mueang Samut Songkhram District

Amphoe Mueang Samut Songkhram ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง สมุทรสงคราม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province of Samut Songkhram. The Samut Songkhram Province is located in the central region of Thailand. The capital of the province, as well as Mueang Samut Songkhram of the district of Samut Songkhram is also called.

History

The county was established in 1897 and was at that time Lom Thuan. He was controlled by the Monthon from Ratchaburi. 1900 moved the county office in the temple area of Ban Prok, as he then was called since 1917. In 1925 the office was moved again, and indeed to Mae Klong Mae Klong in Tambon, at the same time, the name of the county changed again. 1938 Named one of the District Mueang Samut Songkhram in. Geography

Amphoe Samut Songkhram is located in the western central region along the Mae Klong, which opens here in the Gulf of Thailand. The distance to the capital Bangkok is about 70 kilometers.

Amphoe Mueang Samut Songkhram is in eleven communities ( tambon) divided, which in turn in 87 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.
