Mueang Suphanburi District

Amphoe Mueang Suphanburi ( in Thai สุพรรณบุรี ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the center of the Thai province of Suphanburi.

The capital of the district is also called Suphanburi.

Geography

The Suphanburi province is located in the western part of central Thailand, the city of Suphanburi about 90 kilometers north- west of Bangkok on Maenam Tha Chin ( Tha Chin River ). From the old town are on the right bank of the remains present, the modern town lies on the left bank.

Adjacent counties ( from the south clockwise): Amphoe Bang Pla Ma, the U Thong, Don Chedi and Si Prachan in the province of Suphanburi, Amphoe Wiset Chai Chan in Ang Thong province, as well as Amphoe Phak Hai, Ayutthaya province.

The largest river of the district is Maenam Tha Chin ( Tha Chin River ), also called Maenam Suphan ( Suphan River ).

Management

The circle is divided into 20 subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 123 villages ( Muban ).

Suphanburi itself ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง สุพรรณบุรี ) has a town status ( thesaban Mueang ), it consists of the whole tambon Tha Philiang and parts of Rua Yai and Tha Rahat.

There are also five small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Tha Sedet ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า เสด็จ ) consists of the whole Tambon Sa Kaeo,
  • Pho Phraya ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพธิ์ พระยา ) consists of parts of the Tambon Pho Phraya,
  • Suan Taeng ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สวน แตง ) consists of parts of tambon Suan Taeng and Sala Khao,
  • Bang Kung ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บาง กุ้ง ) consists of the whole Tambon Bang Kung,
  • Tha Rahat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า ระหัด ) also consists of parts of the tambon Tha Rahat.

There are also 16 administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
