Mueang Surin District

Amphoe Mueang Surin ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง สุรินทร์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the center of the province of Surin. The Surin province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Mueang Surin borders the following districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Chom Phra to, Khwao Sinarin, Sikhoraphum, Lamduan Prasat and the province of Surin, and to the Amphoe Krasang and Satuek the province of Buriram.

Education

In this district is the Rajabhat University, Surin and an annexe campus of Rajamangala University of Technology Isan.

Management

The circle is divided into 21 subdistricts (tambon ), divide further into 292 villages ( Muban ).

Surin itself ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง สุรินทร์ ) has a city - state ( thesaban Mueang ), which covers the whole tambon Nai Mueang.

Mueang Thi ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เมือง ที ) has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon), it covers parts of tambon Mueang Thi.

Each of the 20 other Tambon is a " Tambon Administrative Organization" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) managed.
