Mueang Yala District

Amphoe Mueang Yala ( Thai: อำเภอ เมือง ยะลา ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the province of Yala in the far south of Thailand. The capital of the district of Mueang Yala Yala is also called.

Geography

Yala is situated near the border with Malaysia in the far south of Thailand.

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Khok Pho the Mae Lan and Yarang Pattani Province, which Amphoe Raman, Krong Pinang and Yaha Yala Province and Amphoe Saba Yoi the province of Songkhla.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Yala is divided into 14 communes ( tambon), which further into 80 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

The large ( thesaban Nakhon ) Yala covers the whole tambon Sateng.
