Mueang Yasothon District

Amphoe Mueang Yasothon ( Thai: อำเภอ เมือง ยโสธร ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Yasothon. The Yasothon Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan. The capital of the province of Yasothon Yasothon is also called.

Geography

Yasothon is surrounded by a barren plain in Isaan. The distance to the capital Bangkok is just over 500 kilometers. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) the Amphoe Sai Mun, Kut Chum, Pa Tio and Kham Khuean Kaeo Province Yasothon, Amphoe Phanom and the Phrai and Selaphum the province of Roi Et

History

The province was established in 1972 by the separation of Ubon Ratchathani.

Management

The district Mueang Yasothon is divided into 18 subdistricts ( tambon), these in turn are divided into 190 municipalities ( Muban ).

The city ( Mueang thesaban ) Yasothon ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง ยโสธร ) consists of the whole tambon Nai Mueang.

There are also two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Indeed Thong ( เทศบาล ตำบล ตาด ทอง ) consists of the whole Tambon Thong fact,
  • Doet ( เทศบาล ตำบล เดิ ด ) consists of the whole tambon Doet.

Furthermore, there are 15 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district. ( Population figures from 2003)
