Muhammad Abu Zahra

Muhammad Abu Zahra (Arabic: محمد أبو زهرة, DMG Muhammed Abu Zahra, * 1898, † 1974) was a conservative Egyptian Alim, scholar of Islamic law ( Sharia ), scholar of jurisprudence (fiqh ) and author.

He studied at the Madrasa al - Qada al- Shari, and then at the Dar ul - Ulum. He taught at al- Azhar (fiqh ) and later, as a professor of sharia in Cairo. Abu Zahra was also a member of the Islamic Research at Al- Azhar. His more than forty books include biographies of Abu Hanifa, Malik ibn Anas, Shafii, Ibn Hanbal, Zayd ibn Ali, the Dascha ʿ far al-Sadiq, Ibn Hazm and Ibn Taymiyya, as well as work on the Waqf. In addition, he wrote about the characteristics of crime and punishment in Islamic law.
