Muhammad Suleiman

Mohammed Suleiman (Arabic: محمد سليمان; * 1958 or 1959 in Driekesh at Tartus; † August 2, 2008 in Al Rimal Al Zahabiyeh at Tartus ) was a Syrian brigadier-general, who was shot in an assassination attempt.

Suleiman was a member of the faith community of Alawites. He was a close confidant and adviser to the Syrian president Bashar al -Assad. It is thought that he was the Syrian liaison to Hezbollah and to have been in close contact to Imad Mughniyah. It should be also been the main interlocutor of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
