Muhr is one of the 15 municipalities in the district of Lungau, Salzburg in Austria with 566 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the Mur Valley, in which the eponymous river Mur springs.

Geography

By the end of January 1962, the village belonged to the court of the district of Sankt Michael im Lungau, since February 1, 1962, she is part of the judicial district Tamsweg.

Coat of arms

Blazon: A shield, diagonally divided by a double wave band in blue, also in the left box in silver man with red-silver mistook clothes, right a sword, left a gold ring with ruby reserved, including the right field in a Gold Blahhaus in Schwarz.

The man is the local Samson. Blahhaus says a small blast furnace.

Economy

The municipal area of Muhr are the power plants Murfall, Rotgülden and Hintermuhr Kraftwerksgruppe Lungau Salzburg AG for energy, transport and telecommunications.
