Muiñeira

The Muiñeira is a Celtiberian dance in 6/8-Rhythmus, more precisely, he comes from the northern Spanish and northern Portuguese region.

His character is syncopated, sometimes dotted and remembers with a little imagination to the Jig ( Gigue ), this dance just is not a jig, but its own dance form. The Muiñeira is often played with the gaita, a Spanish bagpipes, but also with instruments that are known throughout the session scene around the Celtic music, such as fiddle, whistle, bouzouki, cisterns, Concertina.

A traditional Banda consists of a gaita, a Bomba (bass drum ) and a Tamburil ( Galician tenor drum ). The Muiñeira is Danced very complex.
