Muir–Torre syndrome

The Muir -Torre syndrome is a variant of hereditary non- polyposis colorectal cancer ( Lynch syndrome), in which additional skin symptoms are observed.

From Muir et. al. 1967, and Torre 1968 first described, occur in addition to preferably localized in the right colon carcinomas and urothelial and endometrial cancer also multiple benign and malignant sebaceous tumors and keratoacanthomas of the skin.

Causes include mutations in genes encoding DNA mismatch repair proteins.
