The Mulam (also Mulao; Chinese:仫佬族, Pinyin: Mùlǎozú ) are one of the 55 officially recognized ethnic minorities of the People's Republic of China. According to the last census in 2010, they include 216 257 people. They live mainly in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guizhou Province. The nearly 30,000 Mulam Guizhou Province were officially assigned until 1993 that nationality. Use the proper name Mulao, written with the characters木 佬 人( Mùlǎorén ) and differ linguistically and culturally materially from those Mulam Guangxi.
