Munderfing

Munderfing is a municipality with 2813 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Upper Austria in the district of Braunau am Inn in Innviertel. The competent court is the district court district Mattighofen.

Geography

History

Naming: The name Munderfing refers to the Knights Mundolf which prevailed here in the 7th century. The ending-ing indicates a Bavarian colonization.

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria.
