The Cowboys are one of the oldest still existing football teams in Germany. Its first president was Werner Forster, who was also a founder at the same time and lives in Munich. They reached their greatest success in the 1993 season by winning the German championship with a 42:36 after extra time against the Cologne Crocodiles. After the 2002 season, which already ran an insolvency proceeding, the Cowboys went up by defeats against the Marburg Mercenaries from in the relegation from the GFL. An association resolution was narrowly averted and waives a start in the 2nd Bundesliga. Instead, the matches in the Regionalliga Süd 2003 was taken from the direct promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. Already in 2004, succeeded to rise again in the GFL South. The return to the House of Lords did not go as hoped. You could not establish themselves and rose after the 2005 season, the only reason not expire because only 5 teams played in the GFL South. In the 2006 season they again remained below expectations. The coaching change during the season brought a slight upturn, but the relegation could not miss one in which the Weinheim Longhorns, interspersed earned a master of the 2nd Division South. So the Cowboys went for the second time within 4 years from. But succeeded in the 2007 season, with only one point loss by a draw against second- placed Franken Knights, the direct promotion back to the GFL. As a climber was achieved in the 2008 season, a sensational third place in the table and thus for the first time after 7 years back the play-offs. There, however, was already in the quarter-final stage, they lost the later champions Braunschweig Lions with 10:32. The 2009 season ended the men's team as a Table of GFL and you had to in the play-offs against the Franken Knights. There, however, one could argue, and both play-offs were won, so that even in 2010 to participate in the GFL was possible, which was completed in 5th place.
