Municipality of Nazarje

Nazarje ( German: Altenburg ) is a municipality in the Spodnja Štajerska region in Slovenia.

The municipality is located in Upper Nazaje Savinja. Also known are the many caves within their boundaries. Consisting of 15 towns total municipality has 2665 inhabitants. In the capital alone Nazarje 1020 people live.

The first mention of the castle had Vrbovec, as an old castle, which is also seen in the coat of arms. Around 1480 it reached its present form. Although she was destroyed in 1944 by partisans in part, but repaired. Today, the forestry and timber industry museum is housed there, among others.
