Murchison Medal

The Murchison Medal is an award that has been awarded since 1873 by the Geological Society of London to scientists for outstanding achievements in the field of geology. The award was instituted in 1871 by Roderick Murchison.

It should not be confused with the Murchison Award, the Royal Geographical Society awards.
