Murciélago

Murciélago [ muɾθjelaɰo ] (Spanish for " bat " ) is the name of a fighting bull. The fighting bull Murciélago came from the breeding of Joaquin del Val de Navarre.

With a legendary bullfighting on 5 October 1879 in the Plaza de Toros de los Tejares in Córdoba Murciélago was wounded with 24 lance bumps and then called by the matador Rafael Molina Sánchez, " Lagartijo " ( lizard ) in the final ( third ) act the fight is not killed. The bull was pardoned at the request of the audience. Then Murciélago was purchased by the breeder Antonio Miura, who founded a new breeding line with this bull. Miura let Murciélago cover 70 cows. The Miura bulls, which are still used today in Spanish arenas, come almost all of this breeding line.

The sports car Murcielago and Miura Lamborghini is named after this bull and his breeder.
