Murdo MacLeod

Murdo Davidson MacLeod (* September 24, 1958 in Glasgow ) is a former Scottish football player and coach.

Career

The defensive midfielder first played at Dumbarton FC before moving to Celtic in 1979. From 1987 he played in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund. The combative MacLeod quickly evolved into one of the most popular players of Borussia Dortmund and won the DFB - Pokal in 1989. He played at the Dortmundern to autumn 1990 and took over for the Scottish national football team participated in the World Cup in Italy in 1990. After his departure from Borussia Dortmund MacLeod returned to Scotland to allow his active career at Hibernian and Dumbarton decayed ( as player-coach ). After a two-year commitment as a coach at Partick Thistle, he went in 1998 as an assistant coach at Celtic.

Today, he writes for the Daily Record and occurs as a commentator at football events of the BBC.
