Murghab ( Tajik: Мурғоб; Russian: Мургаб, in Arabic script: مرغاب ) is a city in eastern Tajikistan (Central Asia ).

Murghab is located in the territory of Nagorno - Badakhshan in the high mountains of the Pamirs and has about 7,000 residents. The city lies on the Murghab. The bridge that leads across the river Murghab, stands at a height of 3612 m above sea level; the place is a few meters higher on the southern shore. Over the bridge leads the Pamir Highway, which connects among other Khorog with the Kyrgyz city of Osh through the barren and rugged high mountain desert of the Pamirs.
