Murgul

Murgul ( until 1987 Göktaş ) is a city in the province of Artvin on the Black Sea in the north- east of Turkey. The coastal city Arhavi is about 22 kilometers west of Murgul.

The city has Murgul 3423 inhabitants ( as of 2011) and the entire district Murgul 5995 (2009). The county is situated in the province. 1987 Murgul was upgraded to a district and the old name of the city Göktaş in the present name Murgul changed.
