Muro Lucano

Muro Lucano is a municipality in the province of Potenza, in the Southern Italian region of Basilicata with 5558 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012 ). It is located on a rock about 600 m slm over a canyon of the river Rescio in Lucano Apennines.

History

Below the city wall remains were found, the one identified with the place Numistro at which 210 BC battle between the troops of Hannibal and Marcellus ' happening.
