Muscle atrophy
As muscle atrophy (also: muscle atrophy, amyotrophy ) the loss of skeletal muscle or diminution of the muscle cross -section is called, which dates back mostly to decreased stress.
Muscle atrophy can be caused in different ways:
- Age;
- Malnutrition;
- Inactivity, eg by chronic ( joints, back ) pain, or by therapeutic immobility, such as placing a plaster cast;
- Disorder of muscle metabolism;
- Neuromuscular diseases - failure of nerve, to address the muscles, these are often genetically determined;

The reduced strength of the muscles ( hypotonia ) pain may occur even at low loads.
