Musea

Musea Records ( slogan: Les Classiques du futur, " The Classic of the Future " for French ) is a French record company, which was founded in 1985 and specializes in progressive rock. Museums also acts as a distributor for associates smaller labels and operates an online store.

Prehistory

The later Musea - founder Francis Grosse and Bernard Gueffier met in 1981 at a festival in Reims know. Gueffier was persuaded to write for his music fanzine Notes, which is mainly devoted to the then unfashionable currents of Music Big. The following year she began a discography of French publications of progressive rock, folk, fusion and electronic music to create, which appeared under the title La Discographie du rock Français 1984. The first edition contained a compact cassette with unreleased tracks from Troll, Uppsala, Eskaton and other bands whose albums were difficult to obtain because of bad or completely missing music management. The success of the book was great. Since Gueffier and Big for the development of discography with many artists got in touch and at the same time many readers, the demand for albums this same artist rose to saw the two excited to build a record company. In November 1985, Gueffier and Big Musea Records founded as a nonprofit organization in Dombasle -sur -Meurthe.
