Musée de l'Air

The Musée de l'air et de l' espace is a French museum dedicated to aviation and space technology, which is located in Paris at Le Bourget airport.

History

It was founded in 1919 at the suggestion of Albert Caquot, making it one of the oldest museums of its kind in the world. Today, the most important part of the collection includes about 300 aircraft that are issued to a large extent. In addition there exists a collection of rockets and spacecraft and a planetarium. An extensive collection of aircraft engine is no longer accessible to the public. The extensive library can be visited by appointment. After the change of use of the airport Le Bourget the present premises in 1975 were related. Admission to the exhibition is free. Special admission cost.
