The Museum Mayer van den Bergh in Antwerp houses art of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque from the collection of Fritz Mayer van den Bergh ( 1858-1901 ). The built up of him and transferred in the form of the present museum by his mother Henriette Mayer van den Bergh in memory of her late son 1901-1904 collection features paintings, sculptures, tapestries, drawings, stained glass, ivories, manuscripts and cabaret of international standing.

One focus of the collection is on the art of the 14th - 16th Century. Henriette Mayer van den Bergh was built in a 16th century style designed specifically for the presentation of the collection building near the family home. Both buildings are now home to the exhibition rooms of the museum.
