Musgrave Park, Cork

The Musgrave Park ( Páirc Irish Musgrave ) is a stadium in the Irish city of Cork, which is used for rugby matches. It holds 9,251 spectators and is next to the Thomond Park Home of the province of Munster rugby team as well as the home of the clubs Dolphin RFC and Sundays Well RFC. It was named after the Irish company Musgrave Group, which donated the land and a Distribution Centre has directly opposite.

Use

Rugby

The province of Munster Rugby team uses the stadium for smaller meetings in the Pro 12 league and friendly matches. The games of the Heineken Cup will however be held exclusively in Thomond Park in Limerick. In addition, use the clubs Dolphin RFC and Sundays Well RFC to Musgrave Park for their home games. They have a separate field on the east side of the central stadium, respectively. In addition, in Musgrave Park important local rugby games of amateurs as well as the schools are held.

Other Sports

In 1991, the football club Cork City wore a league match against Shamrock Rovers as from a UEFA Cup match against FC Bayern Munich ( Result 1:1) in Musgrave Park.
