Musha shugyÅ
Shugyo Musha (武 者 修行Japanese ) is a term for a kind of pilgrimage of the samurai warriors in Japan. The concept is similar to the knight-errantry in feudal Europe. The warriors - in this case called Shugyōsha - travel through the earth with the desire their own abilities and skills (mostly in the sword arts ) to improve. Stray Samurai ( Ronin ) attempted partly to gain a permanent job with a prince ( daimyo ), by making impression on important people, or simply increased their awareness. Possible activities during the Musha Shugyo include coaching at other schools, duels, personal protection and mercenary tasks.
