Music Disk

Music Disk, or Music Disk, is a concept from the demo scene that describes a collection of songs that were created on a computer. They are the counterpart to an album essentially. A Music Disk usually consists of a program with its own user interface, so that the listener does not need any additional software to play the songs. The term part "Disk" is bound up with that Music discs were once created so that they fit on a single floppy ( floppy disk), so that they could be easily exchanged between friends and spread on demo parties. On modern platforms Music downloaded discs usually on a hard disk.

The songs on a music disc are usually composed with a tracker, a popular type of program in the demo scene. Amiga Music discs are usually made of MOD files while PC Music discs often include multi-channel formats like XM or IT. Music discs are also common on the Commodore 64 and Atari ST, where they use their own, native formats.
