History

After a quick construction period of six months, the Musical Dome was opened in October 1996. As the first event, the musical Gaudi by Eric Woolfson was shown in a production by Elmar Ottenthal, so the venue was built at first.

However, the musical was a financial flop. In 1998, the operator of the musical had to file for bankruptcy Dome.
