Muskogee County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Muskogee.

Geography

The County is located in east-central Oklahoma, is about 65 km from Arkansas and has an area of ​​2173 square kilometers, of which 65 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Wagoner County, Cherokee County, Sequoyah County, Haskell County, McIntosh County and Okmulgee County.

History

Muskogee County was formed in 1898 as an original county of Muskogee country. It was named after the North American Indian tribe of Muskogee.
