Hadid in 1996 with his family from Afghanistan to Hamburg, to escape the war there. Hadid began at Hamburger SV to play football. There, however, he could not prevail, so he moved to Hamburg Oberliga Eintracht Norderstedt. But even here it is not the breakthrough; he made in two years only 27 games, but scored at least 11 goals. Since the summer of 2009, he plays for Altona 93, where he played in 75 games hit 18 times.
In the Afghan national Mustafa Hadid debuted on 4 June 2008 in a 2-2 draw against Sri Lanka. Here he immediately made his first goal when he scored the interim 2-1 lead. He has completed at least 15 games since then, scoring five goals.
