The volcano Musuan (also Calayo ) is a lava dome and tuff cone on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao main four kilometers south of the city of Valencia City and 81 kilometers southeast of Cagayan de Oro. The Musuan is only 646 meters high has a base diameter of 3 km. The volcano is one of the 22 active volcanoes in the Philippines.

Outbreaks

The Institute of Volcanology and Seismology Phililippine reported two outbreaks of Musuan in the years 1866 and 1867, the Smithsonian Institution 's Global Volcanism Program lists only one possibly phreatic eruption, the "all -round burnt ". The eruption probably took place four years before a visit to a Jesuit priest in 1891, who reported that as a result of strong solfatarischer activity could not examine in detail the volcano. 1976, it was near the Musuan a strong earthquake swarm.
