Mutopia Project
The Mutopia Project publishes freely available music.
In this collection of freely available sheet music (Free Sheet Music) works may be included if the copyright of composer and editor of the edition from which originate the musical contents has gone out. The project will be taken forward by volunteer editors, critical feedback from users of music are integrated. A log displays these.
Approximately 1472 pieces are in PostScript, PDF and MIDI format available as well as in Lilypond format, the actual source of the music.
The pieces are grouped by composer, instrument or group of instruments, and style. About two -thirds of the music written for the piano.
Partial pieces are presented as a " collection ", such as Bach's Inventions and Sinfonias.
Similar projects are the International Music Score Library Project, which, however, primarily collects scanned notes and certainly holds differing content on a work and the Project Gutenberg, which also contains music.
