Muttersholtz
Mother Holtz (German mothers wood) is a French town in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It is located five kilometers east of Schlettstadt. The municipality has 1938 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

Mother Holtz was mentioned in a charter of Louis the Pious 817 for the first time.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms depicts an oak tree on red background, crossed in front of a shepherd's crook and a boat hook, symbols of traditional occupations in the farming and fishing village once in a forested area.

Since 1991/92, there is a partnership between mother Holtz and the German community rice churches in Hesse.
