Mutzmalen

The Mutzmalen is a hamlet in the municipality of Stafa in the Swiss canton of Zurich. The group of buildings consists of 16 houses. In the Mutzmalen about 60 people. The name is probably connected with the billhook, the " Mutz ".

Geography

The hamlet is located at the foot of the aligned against the Southwest Latte Mountain, which is geologically formed by the Linth glacier, near the border between Stafa and Männedorf. The Housing Group is registered as a free holding area in the cantonal structure plan.

History

In Roman times, the Roman road from Zurich ( Turicum ) to Kempraten ( Centum Prata ) and Rapperswil led over the area.
