The Motor Ship Pacific Dream (formerly Iceland Star, Horizon) is a cruise ship in the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.. , Who drives for the Spanish cruise line Pullmantur Cruises. It was built in 1990 as Horizon for Celebrity Cruises at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg.

History

The motor ship was passed by Celebrity Cruises commissioned and baptized on 11 April 1990 to be named Horizon. On April 30, 1990, it was put into service. In 1999 the ship was renovated. The ship, which is located in the top five-star segment, was employed by Celebrity Cruises for Cruises to Bermuda and the Caribbean and to Alaska.

In November 2005 it was bought by the shipping company Iceland Cruises and converted for their own needs. The reconstruction lasted until the spring of 2006. The passenger capacity was increased by the conversion of a deck to another passenger deck from 1798 to 1875 passengers. The team number is specified in Iceland Cruises with 573 (for comparison: Celebrity Cruises has a team of 642 number given). The travel speed of the ship, under the name of Iceland wrong star in the Mediterranean, Brazil and the Caribbean since the spring of 2006, was now 18 knots (previously 21 knots ).

In May 2009, the ship Pullmantur Cruises was taken over, renamed short time in Pacific Dream and is now called Horizon again. After reconstruction and modernization period, the Horizon goes now for the French owner Croisières de France ( CDF), a 100 % subsidiary of Royal Caribbean International.

The sister ship, the Zenith of 1992, which since its modernization in 2006 also at Pullmantur Cruises in use.
