Shortly thereafter, it was decided that the name of the new vessel is to be Northern Expedition and that the other operating in the north of BC Ferry ship ( the verge acquired Sonia, who serves as a replacement for the gesunkenene Queen of the North) would be called Northern Adventure.

The ship in which it is a ferry of the type " RO -PAX 600 " Flensburg Shipbuilding Company, was built at the shipyard in Flensburg in 2008, with the hull number 748. The keel-laying ceremony took place on May 16, instead of launching on 25 September 2008. Was delivered to the ship on January 29, 2009.
