The Samho Dream is a VLCC double hull crude oil tankers.
History
The first owner, the Oriental International put the ship in 2002 as World Progress with Liberia Flag in service. Two years later, the ship was sold to the Oriole Holding Incorporated, which operates it until 2008 under Panamanian flag as Neptune. Since then, the tanker flying the flag of the Marshall Islands as Samho Dream.
Somali pirates hijacked the ship on April 4, 2010, when it was to bring to the United States crude oil worth 170 million U.S. dollars from Iraq.
The vessel and her 24-member crew was released on 6 November 2010 against a payment of 9.5 million U.S. dollars. Currently, the tanker sailed under the name Skopelos under the flag of Greece.
