Mwezi IV Gisabo of Burundi

Mwami Mwezi IV Gisabo Bikata - Bijoga (* 1840, † August 21, 1908 ) was King of the Kingdom of Burundi from 1850 to 1908 He was the son and successor of Ntare IV Rugamba. .

During his reign, Burundi was colonized by Germany. An agreement in 1890 allowed Mwezi to remain as king, but he should recognize the German rule. Mwezi had a rebellion of two leaders who Maconco and Birori were called and were recognized by the Germans in 1903, survive. This recognition was withdrawn in 1905 and the riots were put down in 1906.

His successor was Mutaga IV Mbikije.
