My Father's Glory is a French film from 1990. He is the first part of the film adaptation of the autobiographical novel A childhood in Provence of Marcel Pagnol. With the lock of my mother in the same year followed by the second part.

Action

Marcel is a child of a teacher and a seamstress on the world. Early on, he takes part in the teaching and learning as read by the way. When he is 11 years old, rent his parents and his uncle Jules a house in Provence. Marcel, his brother Paul, his sister, his parents and Aunt Rose, Uncle Jules and her baby spend the summer holidays. Marcel learns Edmond know from butterflies ( Edmond des Papillons ) and Lili. With Lili soon joins him a friendship and through him, he learns the hard environment and nature know. This is not to be exceeded in the hunt inexperienced father of Uncle Jules, Marcel secretly accompanied the hunters. He startles by chance Alpenstein chickens and his father meets two of them. With the fame of these hunting the father adorns and Marcel is happy that he has helped.

Criticism

The lexicon of the International film describes the film as " lovingly staged ". The " delicate humor of worn film impresses with its beautifully photographed landscapes and the delicate and natural play of the actors ".

Awards

My Father's Glory Award at the International Film Festival in 1991 in Seattle with the Golden Space Needle for Best Picture. The third nomination for the French César in the same year resulted in any category at a price.
