My Latest Novel is a Scottish indie pop band from Greenock, a town on the west coast of Scotland near Glasgow.

Band History

In 2005, the brothers Chris and Gary Deveney met in Greenock on the musicians Laura McFarlane and Ryan King and decided to make music together. In her first appearances she learned Paul McGeachy know that was added to the group soon. The following gigs in Greenock arrived so well that the band decided to move to Glasgow and there to try their luck. On a big music trade in the Manchester indie scene has been aware of the band. The label Bella Union, they then took under contract and published in late 2005 Sister Sneaker Sister Soul. This was followed by shows at Scottish festivals and as support for the Pixies. In 2006 they released their debut album, Wolves, which earned them favorable reviews and comparisons with Arcade Fire. They went on a promotional tour, the band also came to Germany. In September 2006, the double -single When We Were Wolves / Pretty In A Panic appeared.

Style

My Latest Novel combines the traditional line-up of guitars, bass and drums with violins, violins, xylophones, percussion and polyphonic singing. Their musical style is characterized by its high contrast atmosphere and melancholy mood, surprising tempo changes and unusually epic texts.
