My Life as a Dog is a Swedish film based on a novel by Reidar Jönsson with the cast Anton Glanzelius, Melinda Kinnaman and Tomas von Brömssen. It was directed by Lasse Hallström.

Content

The twelve- year-old Ingemar lives in the late 1950s with his older brother with his mother in southern Sweden. The disputes between the children are sick mother too much and the two are sent separately to relatives. Ingemar is placed with his uncle Gunnar and his aunt Ulla in a small town in Småland. There he gets to know the saga, a girl who dresses up as a boy and also plays football. Later, when he is back home with his family, to his mother, who subsequently dies in hospital the condition worse. Ingemar is sent back to Småland.
