My Love Is Your Love is the fourth studio album by Whitney Houston. It was released in November 1998 and was their first studio album in eight years. In the U.S., where it managed the album at number 13, the sales were lower than on previous albums; internationally the album was still a success.
History
The album was produced by various producers and production teams such as Rodney Jerkins, Soulshock & Karlin, Wyclef Jean, David Foster and Babyface. Originally planned as a greatest hits compilation, it was recorded in only six weeks. Stylistically, it covered a range of mid-tempo R & B, hip- hop, dance and reggae influences, making it a bit more diverse than the failed previous publications. The album was particularly successful in Europe, where it reached number one on the charts in Austria and Switzerland. In Germany it took second place. For promotion of the album Houston sang on 20 February 1999, at Wetten, dass. ? It's Not Right but It's Okay. On 21 June 1999 she appeared in The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Reception and Awards
On the website Allmusic.com Stephen Thomas Erlewine wrote that the album a row with ease in the best releases of Houston. He forgave four out of five stars.
Whitney Houston was able to record some music awards and nominations for My Love Is Your Love. It's Not Right but It's Okay won the 2000 Grammy Award for Best R & B Vocal Performance - Female.
