My Zinc Bed (film)

My Zinc Bed is a US-American -British drama film from the year 2008. Directed by Anthony Page, the screenplay was written by David Hare based on the own stage play My Zinc Bed from 2000, which was performed at London's Royal Court Theatre.

Action

The alcoholic, writer Paul Peplow has a job interview at the Entrepreneur Victor Quinn. He meets Quinn's wife Elsa know. It turns out that Elsa as he is suffering from an alcohol problem. Peplow and Elsa exchange information on the writer's block of the writer and about the problems with the alcohol.

Reviews

Kathryn Flett wrote in the newspaper The Observer of 31 August 2008 she does not like dramas with numerous dialogues, but with a piece by David Hare could not go wrong - especially with actors " of the caliber of Jonathan Pryce, Paddy Considine and Uma Thurman ". She praised the screen presence of Uma Thurman, who seemed to be loved by the camera and was " masterful " occupation of their role.

Background

The film was produced by Mark Rain film commissioned by the British Broadcasting Corporation and the Home Box Office. It was shot in London in June and July 2007. The first broadcast on British television took place on 27 August 2008.
