Myasthenia
A myasthenia ( " muscle weakness," v. AltGr. Μυς mys " muscle " and ἀσθένεια astheneia "weakness" ) is a symptom of various diseases, which describes a load dependent abnormally rapid fatigue or weakening of muscles.
A common cause is the myasthenia gravis or, more generally, the myasthenic syndrome, which includes in addition to myasthenia gravis, Lambert -Eaton syndrome Rooke, neonatal myasthenia and congenital myasthenic syndrome.
Can further possible causes of muscle weakness or paralysis but also for example the following diagnoses:
- Botulism
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
- Polymyositis
- Hypotonia
- Multiple sclerosis
