Myriam Francois-Cerrah

Myriam Francois- Cerrah, formerly Emilie François ( b. 1983 ) is a Franco-British writer, journalist and actress. She is currently working as a freelance journalist, including for Al Jazeera, the New Statesman and The Independent.

As an actress, she appeared in, among other works, such as Ang Lee's Sense and Sensibility (1995), Paws (1997) or A new years day ( 2000) and converted in 2003 to the Islamic faith. She is a regular guest on BBC Big Questions (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011).

Currently Francois- Cerrah working on her doctoral dissertation at the University of Oxford, which it is expected to finish in 2013. Previously, she has already ( with honors ) earned the Master of Arts at Georgetown University and a Bachelor in Social and Political Science at the University of Cambridge.
